WEBENCH® Tools: Simulation schematic values do not change when the DC/DC parameters are changed in the 'top line'

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62740

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

When in 'Simulate' frame: When making a change to the Vout of the DC/DC, using the 'Change' menu item in the top line, the resistor values do not update on the schematic shown in the simulation window, nor do the Vin parameters shown update on this schematic...

so, here it is for 3.3 V, with 309k  Rfbt

Now, changed to 2 V Vout, as shown in the top line, but Rfbt is still showing 309k

And, it seems that Vin values do not change correctly, either...

  • Hi Barry,

You are right about that. We currently show the updated schematic only in the customize screen. So, any changes (customizations) you make will reflect on customize view schematic. The simulate screen schematic does not automatically update on changes, however, if you go back to customize and come into the simulate view, the schematic should reflect the changes. I will take your inputs back to our team to see if we can make this clearer in the tool.

  • Thanks, Amod, as it is confusing, and can be a real problem when documenting the simulation results, that the Design info, shown in the top line, does not match the actual schematic in the simulation...  BTW, it's also a bit 'interesting' that the TPS62740 VSELx lines do not show the correct connections to Gnd / Vdd to match the voltage selected in the design??

All in search of getting the cleanest-possible results ;-)

Thanks, guys (in the non-gendered sense of 'guys')

  • Thank you for your feedback Barry. Much appreciated. On the TPS62740 issue, can you provide some more details on the design inputs or just share a design using public link? I can open a new e2e post for it once you provide some details.
