TINA/Spice/LMG1205: Keysight ADS transient simulation of LMG1205 PSPICE model

Part Number: LMG1205
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

I am trying to run the transient simulation for LMG1205 and EPC2206 GaN HEMT device in the ADS to see the parasitic inductance effect. But before PCB, I tried to run the schematic simulation. Surprisingly, the result of LMG1205 output is not as per expectation. Below is the waveform and schematic added to ADS.

Please help us to solve this problem.

Thanks

  • Hi Sunil,

It looks like the images and schematics are not attached properly.

Could you please try attaching the schematic and images again so that we can look into the issue?

    Thanks,

  • Hi Sunil,

We support PSpice and TINA-TI simulations, both of which are already setup and provided on the web.

Please let us know if you are facing any issue while simulating the models in the above tools.

    Thanks,
    Vivek Agarwal
  • Dear Vivek,
Currently we are struglling to get support for our first BLDC driver project where we are using GaN devices from EPC. As the switching speed is very high, we need to take care of parasitic inductance. It was my prediction that designing PCB in ADS, will help us to extract the parasitic inductance of nets, hence I am using ADS.
Also, we feel, the problem in ADS, is not major. There will be minor change in the netlist/model and we can run the simulation. We want to make sure that our design is robust against loop inductance.
    Thanks for kind help
    Sunil
  • Hi Sunil,

    I understand your concern.
As i do not able to observe any issue with the SPICE model in PSpice simulator , currently i am closing the ticket.

Please let us know if you face any issue with the models in PSpice or TINA-TI simulators.

    Thanks,
    Vivek Agarwal
  • Thanks Vivek. Please let me know if you have any update on perticular driver IC LMG1205 for the GaN.
