TINA/Spice/LM5146-Q1: TINA irregular circuit error

Part Number: LM5146-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, , LM5146

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hello!

I have been trying to run a simulation in TINA, but I am getting irregular circuit error message. The simulation I am trying to run is of LM5146-12VEVM. I used LM5146-Q1 PSpice model and connected all the components as per the EVM schematic. I rechecked the circuit and still getting an error. I have attached TINA file. What am I doing wrong??

Thanks

  • Hi Nayana,

The error you are getting because the SYNCIN node is floating in the schematic.

Try connecting SYNCIN to the VCC via 20k resister as per EVM scheamtic.

Also, I have observed that value of resister R4 (6.19ohm in your schematic) at ILIM is not matching with that of EVM schamatic (619 ohm).

Making these changes will help to resolve the issue (shown below in result).

Kindly let us know if you need further assistance.

  • Hi,

    Vivek

Thankyou for resolving my issue. The analysis is taking too long and have distortions, can it be improved by changing some analysis parameters? How do I decide the values of analysis parameters??

    Thanks & Regards

    Nayana

  • Hi Nayana,

Results could be modified by changing the analysis parameters.

Making the simulation faster by changing analysis parameters might reduce the accuracy and vice- versa.

You can refer to the documents on analysis parameters in TINA-TI for further clarifications.

    Thanks,
