WEBENCH® Tools/TPS53353: question about the simulation for the VDD cap of TPS53353

Hi，

The simulation tool Webench suggests 2.2uF VDD cap for TPS53353 while we use 4.7uF in datasheet.

Some customer has questions for this capacitor and wants to know if Webench can figure out the different for different capacitor value though simulation?

Can you give some comments?

Hi Oliver,

The value of VDD cap should be 4.7uF on WEBENHCH as per datasheet. We are working on it and will fix will be available in the next release cycle by the end of this month.

Customer also wants to know if the WEBENCH can simulate the filter at VDD pin.
Can you give a comment for this question?
I don't see any different with different value for this cap.

Hi Oliver,

VDD cap acts as a filter and its value does not affect the output simulation results. However, you can change the value of the capacitor using an 'Alternate component' option and simulate the design.
