PMP20497: PMP20497 Design file & Question

Part Number: PMP20497

Hi Team,

The transformer PA4826NL in PMP20497 is for Vin=12V. If my customer designs Vin=24V, should we use a different transformer?

If so, do we have suggested P/N and spec?

Second, PMP20497 design file on TI.com is format as Aluminum Design. Could you send me schematci inORCAD file (.dsn)  and Layout in PADS (.pcb)?

Customer needs it to accelerate the design.

  • Hi Richard,

PA4826NL is a custom transformer from Pulse Electronics. The test report shows secondary switching spikes at 200V which is the rectifier rated voltage. You also need to consider the primary switching spikes to see if you can make this work at 24V input. Otherwise you will need a to double the primary turns to keep the secondary voltage from increasing, but you will still need to review the primary switching. I do not have any transformer part number.

For the design files I generated some files with the Altium exporter. I do not find an exporter for PADS (.pcb).

    Schematic (.dsn):

    Orcad v7 Capture Design

    Layout (.pcb):

    P-CAD ASCII

    Protel PCB 2.8 ASCII

I'll need your email to send the files, they cannot be attached here with those file extensions.

    Best Regards,

    Bob Sheehan
