Vin = 36 V und Vout = 7.8 V; Maximum load current at 7.8 A = 0.3 A, Fsw = 300 kHz

Is this a correct design of my circuit for the parameters? Is it possible to combine tantalum capacitors and ceramic capacitors at Cout ? (see in the picture) Tantalum capacitors have a higher ESR compared to ceramic capacitors (here: 500 mOhm at TANTAL). Is this still realizable?

Do you have any suggestions for improvement? The design should be as compact as possible and not too large (height max. 4.5 mm).

Hello,

Since you are fixing the frequency to 300Khz, the footprint will be limited by that. Otherwise, you can increase frequency to reduce the footprint further. You can also choose smaller footprint components from the alternate parts list for every component.

For the output caps question, I am requesting a product expert to take a look and let you know.

For a 300mA load current, you can use a lower current limit setting. Also, you may not need the high ESR tantalum -- just use a 22uF/16V or 47uF/10V ceramic.

The lower current limit setting allows you to use a smaller-footprint inductor.
