TIDA-00449: Maximum and minimum input to BMS while charging

Part Number: TIDA-00449

Hello,

This is regarding TIDA-00449 BMS.
While charging the Li ion battery pack(10s4p) through BMS(ie. through Pack- terminal), what is the minimum and maximum current allowed through BMS(TIDA-00449)?
For example, is it OK to use 42V charger with 9A current or 3A current?

Will the BMS allow any current for charging the battery pack or is there any way to program the IC to make it possible for the need of our application(fast charging 9A or normal charging 4A).

Thanks

  • Hi Sandeep,

TIDA-00449 has no charger current control function integrated, the current limits are based on charger. Please see "2.Design Features" in TIDA-00449 design guide. So 42V/9A or 42V/3A are both good for TIDA-00449. And the charge current protection is processed in firmware, you can determine the threshold based on your system.

And regarding the maximum charging and discharging current, 50A is the maximum.

    Best Regards,

    Ryan
