Help search flyback solution for -48Vin, 12Vo, 3A

Hi,

My customer want to design flyback, which spec is -48Vin, 12Vout, and Iout=3A. Please suggest, thanks.

Hi Ryan,

I think Boost controller is more better choice for this conversion. you may check and find out Reference Design on TI website.

Why use boost?

Boost topology is recommended for below reason:

1. it may require isolation for -48V to 12V/3A conversion, then you need flyback controller or boost controller.

2, if isolation not required, then -48V to 12V is still a step-up conversion, pls check Application Note SNVA740 for reference.
