I've been using TINA a while now and in the past have found it easy to use and simulate new designs with. My process has been simple in the past: Use web-bench to find a suitable solution, export the simulation into TINA or find the associated SPICE model, and use TINAS Marco wizard to import the file into TINA.
Recently though this has been hampered by encrypted SPICE files. I am Currently trying to simulate a switching regulator based on a TPS61021, the spice files for that are not in TINA ( I have recently updated, no sign). I downloaed the spice file and tried using the Macro to import the model, but came up against the INVALID DEVICE problem that is because of an encrypted file.
I have read the forum post here: https://e2e.ti.com/support/tools/sim-hw-system-design/f/234/t/692613 - alas this is not clear as to HOW to import a native manufacturer encrypted file, only UNencrypted files. I would have expected that using a SPICE file from a Manufacturer that created said file would be easy to import?
There should be a general drive towards improving this procedure. If the files is encrypted, then perhaps TINA needs updating to accommodate a new method of importing these encrypted files?
To summaries:
1. HOW EXACTLY do I import my encrypted file (given it is a TI model) into TINA?
2. I would like to forward my comments as a suggestion of improvement.
