PMP10812: 13W-5V@2.6A reference design

Part Number: PMP10812
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5088, , TPS2378, LM5145

Dear Sir.

Do we have the following link but need to change to the reference design of 13W-5V@2.6A? The temperature is 105 degrees. Thanks for help~

  • AJ,

The dc/dc converter used in PMP10812 is rated for 1A.  For 5V/2.6A I would recommend using the LM5145 synchronous buck controller.  I don't currently have a reference design for 5V/2.6A, but from the web page for this device you can link to the WEBENCH Power Designer.  You can provide the input and output parameters and WEBENCH will calculate a design complete with schematic and BOM.  Note that the PoE input is 57Vdc maximum, but can see transients up to 95V.  The LM5145 is rated for 75Vdc with transients up to 105V, making it well suited for PoE applications.  The PoE front end (RJ45, bridge, TPS2378) will remain the same.  The LM5088 is also an option.  It uses a diode rectifier, not a synchronous rectifier, so the efficiency will be less than the LM5145.

    Thanks,

    David
