WEBENCH® Tools/TPS61322: TPS61322 evaluation on webench

Part Number: TPS61322
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61022, TPS61023

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi,

Trying to evaluate some design requirements on webench for the device TPS613221A. But I can't seem to get webench to run. It says the design parameters are incorrect.

Vin is 0.9-3.2V from 2xAA batteries in series.

Vout 3.3V at 300-500mA. I'm not sure of the exact current draw yet.

I wanted to check that the device will be stable across the operating temperature range and current consumption range and try and work out efficiency as well as the required inductor and capacitor specifications.

Can you help with this?

Kind regards,

Alex

  • Alex,

TPS61322 and its variants are violating maximum duty cycle limit for your inputs (0.9V Vin to 3.3 V Vout). The design gets created at lower output currents of around 100mA in the tool. But we will double check the calculations involved at 300mA- 500mA - possibly larger losses due to higher current causing the duty cycle violation. So, it is possible the TPS61322 may not work out for larger currents. Other alternatives like TPS61022 and TPS61023 might be options you can check out in the tool. Please let us know if you have more questions.

    Regards,
