Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools
I wonder what algorithm Webench uses to obtain the effective capacitance value decrease due to DC voltage? Do you know how WebBench does this? Does Webench store the capacitance voltage characteristic for each specific physical capacitor it uses in a simulation circuit.
I ask this because the percentage decrease in the ceramic capacitance value is a function of capacitor voltage rating, case size, ceramic dielectric type (e.g. X7R versus X5R) and even manufacturer. See the attached family of voltage coefficient performance for various 4.7uF capacitors.
Finally, since Webench is such a powerful tool does TI have a user’s manual, application note, etc. which may cover its many features?
