PMP4334: Flyback Transformer used in this Design

Part Number: PMP4334

Hi everyone,

Could you please let me know which flyback transformer is being used for this design (PMP4334)? On the schematics I could see that T1 (flyback transformer) has as PQ3230. The problem is that this reference takes me nowhere on websites like digikey or mouser once PQ3230 is a package size.

Do you happen to have a Part Number for the whole flyback transformer?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best regards,

  • Hello,

I am researching this for you and when I receive the transformer data sheet from the designer.  I will forwarded it to you.

    Regards,

  • Hi Mike,

thanks a lot for the info.

I will be waiting for your feedback!

I have attached the transformer data sheet for your reference.

Thanks you for choosing TI in your design,

  • Hi Mike,

thanks  a lot for the datasheet. I could see that its main content is related to mechanical specifications. The PN is also there and therefore I tried to look for more information online. Unfortunately there is nothing anywhere specifying the Electrical Specifications of the PG1266NL (not even on PULSE website). It comes without saying that its no longer supported/sold. Do you happen to have any further specification regarding the electrical characteristics of this device? If you know a substitute for it, it would also be fine.

I am sorry if I am asking too much its just that I still do not have all the information I need to at the moment!

Once again thank you very much indeed.

    Best regards,

  • Hello,

Did you try contacting pulse directly to see if they still had any of the transformers?

Your other option would be to see if you could Wurth, GCI or Renco build that transformer for you.  They should be able to do it from the data sheet transformer specification that you have.

  • Hi Mike,

    thanks for your answer.

I've been trying to contact Pulse Electronics (European Branch) but so far no good luck. I've also sent emails last week but they didn't yet answer. I was hoping to find an equivalent off the shelf transformer but I do not have enough details from the PG1266NL to be able to do it. Maybe I'll try to contact Würth.

Thanks for your continuous support Mike!

    Best regards,

  • Hello Jose,

Sorry about the issues you are having with Pulse. I know Wurth is always will to do custom designs.

If pulse does not sell the transformer off the shelf and Wurth does not want to do the design for you.  There is always GCI and Renco.

    Regards,
