WEBENCH® Tools/P82B96: IBIS model issues

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

My customer is trying to use the IBIS model for the P82B96 I2C driver and their signal integrity tool is not opening/finding the devices in the second column. The SI tool is Pads Hyperlynx.

A screen shot of the tool menu is shown below where the P82B96 device is not showing any devices in the second column..

Hi Mark,

Please be sure you are using the most recent IBIS model on the device store page and the IBIS file does not have any stray characters at the beginning or end of the file.

When I imported this on my end to test, a '�' character was present at the end of the file which made the file unable to be parsed by Hyperlynx. Once I removed this character, I was able to successfully select a device from the model.

Please let me know if this solves the issue on your end as well.

Hi Eric,

This did the trick. Thanks for the suggestion.

The customer found another IBIS file with this same issue SN74LVT244B. Removing the stray character corrected this one as well.
