Starting this thread to pick up the communication from the previous one that got locked
Hi, Giannis,
I read the Pro Trace User's Manual, and your boot up sequence it a bit different from what it described on safe mode. There one thing in common is that the STATE-2 LED isn't on. That is FPGA is not loading. In the document, it says:
"When in “Safe Mode” you cannot run CCS instead you can use the Sd560v2Cnfg utility to diagnose the problem and return to normal boot mode."
Have you tried using that utility to diagnose the probleml, and what does it say?
By the way, in the document, it always says "is ready for connecting via USB or Ethernet.". This refer to my previous post that if it was working successfully with both connection or just one.

Hi, Giannis,
Being able to be out of safe mode is a good progress. It is the most critical hurdle. After you took the emulator out of safe mode, you mentioned that CCS still doesn't work. Did you get any error and what is it?
Rex
Hi Rex,
I had updated the debugger with the correct XDS560 PRO firmware following your advice (CCS comes only with the non-pro firmware packed) and still saw the same error in dmesg:
usb 1-7.1.4: usbfs: process 15896 (sd560v2u_server) did not claim interface 0 before use
However, I retested the debugger now and it seems to work, although the same error is shown in dmesg. I managed to connect to my board. This is very strange...
I will test it more and let you know if I see any issues, but for now this seems OK, apart from the error message in dmesg. Do you know if this is something o worry about?
Thank you for the support,
Giannis
