SwitcherPro Desktop 3.9.10 Crashes under Vista

Hi all,

I am running SwitcherPro 3.9.10 on a fully patched Vista machine and it crashes when attempting to open the list of devices. I can solve this problem by running as Administrator. This is fine for me but I thought you might be interested.

    Hi Ed,

    Your observation is correct. SwitcherPro does not work unless it is run as Administrator. The user created designs are store in C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments and the database engine needs to run as Administrator to read/write the data.

    We are working on transitioning the user data to C:\Document and Settings\<uid>\My Documents\Texas Instruments. Once that is done, SwitcherPro should be able to run in an unprivileged account.

    Hi Michael,

    Thanks for your response, it would actually be good to store user files in a location the user chooses, that way they could be included in a backup along with related project files or placed on a shared drive. 

    Also, SwitcherPro is very handy software, thanks very much for your hard work.
