TPS61040 spice model

I have a customer who says the spice model for this part is not correct... I do not have any software on my machine to test this. Has anyone had any issues? Any help or ideas would be appreciated... Thanks!

  • Hi Shaun,

Could you be more specific about what the model is not predicting correctly? Ideally, it would be nice to get the customer's schematic, BOM, and measured data so that we could reproduce the problem.

Generally speaking, I would recommend looking at discrepancies between the schematic in PSPICE (is the customer using PSPICE?) and the customer's board. For example, capacitors need to be derated manually in the schematic. So, you cannot use the ideal value of your output cap in your simulation. Also, please make sure that you have the correct DCR in series with you inductor.

    Regards,
    Michael
