WEBENCH® Tools/TPS723: Configuration Options in WEBENCH

Part Number: TPS723

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello together,

I wanted to ask what " Configuration Options " means to me. There I see Input Ripple Frequency and Input Ripple p-p. In front of the TPS723 I use a switching regulator. Are these values related to it or not?

Please refer to the attached picture.

  • Hi Selvedin,

I would use the characteristics of the DC/DC converter used to create the rail. For example, if the converter is running at 1MHz and the output ripple is 100mVpp, these are the values you would put into the configuration parameters. Webench should adjust CNR and COUT accordingly, but I just checked and it does not. Webench is primarily optimized for our switching converters and may not have the most recent LDO recommendation.

As I mentioned in a previous post, please have a look at our LDO basics series on PSRR which can help.  Increasing CNR and COUT help a lot.

    I hope this helps.
