Hi,
I installed PSpice for TI yesterday then used it to capture and simulate a design after which it was closed. However, when I re-opened the un-altered design today the simulator reported an error with libraries with a phrase something like "self-reference or duplicate library". I have reason to suspect that between times, PSpice had updated some of its' libraries which may be the source of the problem. The only fix I've found so far is to re-install the whole package and this sequence of events has now happened twice in succession which clearly is not a viable mode of working.
Has anyone come across this problem, if so was a proper fix found?.
Does anyone know how to turn off automatic updating in PSpice.?
Thanks
Robert Phillips
Robert,
Thank you for your post and your interest in Pspice for TI.
We are sorry to hear about the problems you have faced with the tool.
Please try rebuilding the library by using Help/Reinstall Models and Libraries:
After that, please restart the tool, do not accept any offered updates for now, and try running your simulation.
Please let us know if that fixes the problem. Thank you for your patience.
Regards,
John
Hi John,
Thanks for prompt reply. However, on my installation under "Help" you do not get the "Reinstall TI Models and Libraries" option, see below

Hi John,
Some supplementary information which may be useful.
1) It seems that I can repeatedly re-run PSpice so long as I don't turn off the PC but maybe that's just because the power cycle causes it to automatically update.
2) Below is a screen shot of the console after this problem has occurred.

Robert ,
Thanks for the add'l info.
We have discovered some issues, one of which is mentioned in your message, the TPS1H100B-Q1_TRANS.LIB.
We are investigating it now, and will have an update shortly.

John
Robert,
Would you mind taking a look at the file C:\SPB_Data\cdssetup\pspTILibDir\LibraryUpdate.log? Does it contain any lines saying error?
Thanks,
JC
Hi JC,
At this moment, after my third re-installation today, PSpice is working OK so the contents of the .log file may not be much help. However, here it is :-

As soon as PSpice stops working, which will probably be be quite soon, I will re-check the log file and post it.

Hi John,
Just to let you know that some time yesterday, bafter my second or third re-install of PSpice of the day, the libraries issue seems to have gone away, at least for the time being. I'll leave the case open for a bit longer in case it comes back but I guess it is possible that someone your end has fixed it.
Regards
Robert
Thank you for the heads-up Robert.
I am glad the problem has been corrected.
Just so you know, your findings pointed us to some errors in the library.
My colleague JC has been working to fix those, and we are both hoping this will be the end of the problems.
Please keep us posted of anything that doesn't seem right.
Thank you for your patience and support in this.
Regards,
John
Hi John,
No problem, it does seem to have gone away so I've marked it as resolved.
