PSpice tool

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hi,

How is the new PSpice tool different from TINA-TI?

What is the difference between Project file, Design file and Text file in PSpice simulator?

Can we directly get Bode plots without adding any new trace?

Thanks & Regards,

Rudra Prakash

  • Hi Rudra,

It is best if we have a baseline on terminologies you used. Would you please share the origin of these phrased you referred to?

Project file, Design file and Text file

If I had more context, the answer will be more accurate.

Same for "trace". If by that you mean the simple plot of a voltage such as "V(OUT)". For an AC simulation that'll be for the magnitude of the voltage on node "OUT". And yes, you can get the Bode plots for node "OUT" (both magnitude in dB20 and phase) without plotting "V(OUT)".

I highly recommend watching topic 1.4 and 1.5 on this page:

  • Hi,

Actually, I am working on PSpice for TI tool, and those 3 options come when we create a new file.

Still not able to find PM and GM without using the cursor.

    Please help.

    Thank you

  • Rudra,

    Thanks for the clarifications.

Project. A project is a collection of schematics and simulation settings. You already have one open.

Design. A design is basically a schematic which can contain multiple pages connected together.

Text file. This is just a simple text editor. It will not have any significance in terms of your project or design.

For your second question, it appears that you were looking for a measurement. In the results window, click "Trace" -> "Measurements", then look for PhaseMargin and GainMargin:
