how to simulate ADC in TINA-TI

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS8681, TINA-TI

I have successfully imported ADS8681 macro model into TINA-TI. There are many inputs required such as ADC sample, BUSY, SCLK, Input Range and each. How to set these input values?

I would like to see the output of the ADC as well. How do I do this? I'm new to TINA-TI, so any documentation of video will be beneficial.

  • Hello

I suggest downloading the reference model, and not the tina spice model

The reference model has all the surrounding circuitry already included, and an example of how it works, and instructions on the right side of how to use and configure the model.

  • Hi pragash,

I do not know which model you have downloaded, actually the "ADS8681 TINA-TI Ref Design" file is recommended, please see ADS8681 Design & development simulation

After you open this TINA-TI Ref Design file, you can see the "Control Signals to ADC" in the upper right corner which have already been configured. You can also double-click them to modify.

The instructions for configuring control signals are shown in the blue box on the right side.

The input signal(AIN_P) is shown on the left side, you can double-click it to modify the amplitude and frequency in the "Sine wave".

You can run the simulation directly without any modifications and check the sampled input signal by selecting "Analysis"->"Transient"->"OK" in the top menu of TINA.

    Best regards,

    Dale

  • sorry for asking questions late. can i connect front end circuits to the ADC? for example, filters , LNA and each..

  • Hi pragash,

Yes, you can do that if you can build your circuity in the TINA-TI.

    Best regards,

    Dale
