PMP4311: THD at 264VAC and low load

Hi,

for a current PFC project, I am considering switching to UCC28070 controller.

In the test results for PMP4311 design THD is only mentioned for 220V @100% load (<8,7%) and 180V @100% (<6,9%).

Do you have some furhter information on THD at high line (264V) and also low load condition (e.g. 25%, 50%, 75%).

PMP4311 is very old reference design, there is no such data you required. There is another 800W reference design PMP40261, there are ITHD data for different input voltage and output load. here is link of PMP40261. BTW, PMP40261 is bridgeless PFC. If use UCC28070 as interleaved PFC, the iTHD is better.

Hi Yusheng,

thanks for the quick reply. I checked out PMP4311 because it has similar specs to what I want to achieve.
Vin=180-264V, Vout=425V, P=4kW. I currently work with a different IC at fsw=65kHz, Lphase=185µH. CCM, 2ph interleaved.

Now I want to change to TI- Products and came accross the UCC28070. Just with these rough specifications. Is there any other IC you would recommend?

regarding to the spec you provided, UCC28070 is the best solution from TI.

There is a single phase PFC UCC28180 can support your request, below is a 3.5kW reference design with UCC28180， and the ITHD is good, you can refer to the test result of iTHD in below link.
