PMP8621: 5V input in PMP8621

Part Number: PMP8621
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40210, LM5155

Hi Sir,

My customer want to design a 5V to 180Vdc / 0.01mA circuit. They find PMP8621 and want to know if that's ok for 5V input application, and what's the output voltage when its Vin = 5V? Thanks for your kindly response.

Regards,

Gary Teng

  • Hello Gary,

Thanks for reaching out. The TPS40210 has a minimum Vin of 4.5V, therefore it is fine to use the PMP8621 reference design, you might want to leave the EN/DIS pin unconnected. Just in case, you can also have a look at this other reference design: https://www.ti.com/tool/PMP20183 . In case you might want to use a newer device, you can think about the LM5155.

Let me know if I can help you furthermore,

    Kind regards,

    Elisabetta
