PSPICE-FOR-TI: PSpice model of microphone

Part Number: PSPICE-FOR-TI

Hi Team,

Our customer is simulating a circuit with microphone in PSpice. He added the symbol of microphone from the built-in library included in the installation (please see the screenshot below for reference). He is looking for the .lib file of the microphone. As I understand, there is no PSpice model of this microphone. Can you please confirm? 

If there is no PSpice model of a microphone, can you please suggest an alternative way to simulate it in PSpice?

    That is just a schematic symbol. There's no lib file associated with it.

    Hi JC,

    We have received a follow up question from the customer regarding the PSpice model. According to the customer,

    The simulation was for a lab that my students were designing. It was a simple RC circuit with a speaker. I know a speaker can be represented as an RLC circuit but the point of the lab was not to teach them about speakers and how they work but just to use it in a simulation.
    Regarding the spice model, I think the larger question is, why are there no PSPICE models for any of the parts in the part search? I'm not talking about the PSPICE part search just the files that are under Place-> Part. I don't understand why a spice simulator would have tons of part libraries without the spice file to go with them. Are these models saved in a separate location? Are they somewhere online?

    Also, I know in Cadence any spice model can be edited from the software, can this also be done in pspice for ti? When I try to edit the parts the selection is always grayed out.

    And just an FYI, LTspice does have the speaker and buzzer library available without having to install 3rd party files.

    Hi Danilo,

    These symbols are for PCB design and there's no underlying simulation model for them. They are just for connectivity. It's the same as in the commercial version of Cadence SPB.

    Editing models is done the same way as in the commercial version (you edit the underlying LIB file). However, the menu item in the red circle is for models created by the built-in modeling tool.
