PSpice for TI simulation error: There are no data values in section number 1and 2 ignoring this section

Hi,

I have just started using the PSpice software this week, so it is probably a setting I've missed etc.

My schematic has no errors in the Session Log and the Simulator Output window has no errors.

When I press the simulate button and the Simulator opens, the output window displays appropriate information but there are no results in the main display area.

If I press the RUN PSpice button again, I receive a prompt on the simulation package, restart prompt, press Y and then I receive two errors and basically no simulation.

  1. There are no data values in section number 1 ignoring this section.
  2. There are no data values in section number 2 ignoring this section.

Followed by

I'm unable to determine what part these errors relate to and how to fix.

Thanks,

Neil

  • Hello Neil,

Thank you for sharing your test case. I will have a look and let you know my findings.

    Thank you again,

    Jackie

  • Hi,

Are you able to resolve the above?

On a second issue. The simulator doesn't like closing down properly. If I select File & Exit in the menu's, it displays the below screen.

Two issues here, it is asking a question but does not give you the option of a Yes/No answer and secondly, pressing OK does not exit the program. I have to End Task the application. Not nice.

  • Hello Neil,

I am able to reproduce the issue you have reported but I do not have a solution yet. We are sharing the design with the software developer and discussing further with them tomorrow.

I will look into your new issue as well.

    Thank you,

    Jackie

  • Hello Neil,

Cadence has recommended using the Autoconvergence option in the Simulation Profile under Options. This did not work for me, but I wanted to let you know in case our setups are different in any way.

I have not been able to reproduce the second issue that you have reported. Is this the same design as "Temperature Sensor front end"?

    Thank you,

    Jackie

  • I presume you/cadence are talk about the below, if so, this has made no difference to me.

I really need to get this working.

  • Hello Neil,

Cadence has reported that the simulation completes after ~50 min with Autoconvergence enabled. I understand that this is not an acceptable sim time and we are further investigating.

    Thank you,

    Jackie

  • Hello Neil,

Cadence has recommended another option that worked for me. Download the attached file with additional simulation settings. In the PSpice for TI Schematic, please click the "Edit Simulation Profile" icon in the top toolbar. In the Simulation Settings, choose "Configuration files." For the Category, select "Include." For the filename, please choose "Browse..." and navigate to the include.txt file. Click "Add to Profile." The file should appear in the list of Configured Files. Click OK.

Now try to run the simulation again. It took 2-3 minutes for mine to finish. Please let me know if you have any other trouble.

    Thank you,

    Jackie
