CC2564MODA: audio codec and host processor

Part Number: CC2564MODA

Hello Guys,

Good day.

Our customer application is wireless headset/microphone and is considering to use CC2564MODA. Is there any recommended audio codec and host processor to go with this module?

Thanks and regards,

Art

  • Hi Art,

In terms of host processor, it depends on whether your customer wants to use an MPU + Linux setup or if they are using a MCU + RTOS setup.

For MCUs, we have out-of-box support for the MSP432. You can also use any other ARM Cortex M4, as the Bluetooth stack libraries are compiled for the M4 architecture.

For MPUs, we have out-of-box support for the Sitara AM335x series MPUs. Other Sitara A8 MPUs will also be compatible.

Now, if they are planning on using their own Bluetooth stack, then there is much less restriction on the host processor - the recommendations above assume that your customer will want to use TI's in-house royalty-free BT stack.

In terms of audio codec, for our examples we use the tlv320aic3254 but you can use any codec that has an I2S/PCM interface, and there is no specific recommended codec option.

Let me know if you need more clarification or have further questions on the CC2564MODA.

    Regards,

    Michael
