Dear Support members.
I want to do target smartphone orientation detection and position estimation with AoA.

Q1. If I prepare two sets of BOOST XL-AOA and LANCH XL-CC26X2R1, will it be possible to detect the direction and estimate the position?

Q2. Is it possible to connect two sets of LANCH XL-CC26X2R1 to one PC and receive directional information from both?

Q3. Does AoA's target smartphone need to support bluetooth 5.1?

Q4. Are there any AoA target smartphones or BLE tags recommended by Texas?

Sorry for the rudimentary question.
I would be happy if you could answer.

I am not aware of any smartphones currently supporting AoA, but I notified a colleague and he may reply back with additional insights.

What should I use to target AoA?

For example, BLE tag?

Hi,

I confirm Rafael's comment. As of today, no phone supports AoA.

You can use a LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1 as tag. You could also use a LPSTK-CC1352R - please follow this guide to port the code.

1. PC that receives directional data and estimates the position.

If you check Task 1 of the Simplelink Academy module I referenced above, there are many user cases that show the need or not for the BOOSTXL-AOA antenna.
