CC2650MODA: Using QDID 135680 and 88415 produces inconsistencies @Launch Studio ICS Selection

Hello,

Project Basics:

- QDIDs selected: 135680 and 88415

- TCRL 2020-1 elected (no other selection possible)

- End Product

- Controller / Host Core: LE

Layer Selection:

- as imported from QDIDs

ICS Selection:

- as imported from QDIDs

Consistency Report leads to one grouping invalidity and 19 dependency invalidities. SWRA601F suggests to ask E2E in case of inconsistencies. Most of them are related to LL or HCI. Resolving them will be prompted with a warning that tests have to be repeated. Unfortunately, tests on these Layers have to be performed by BQTFs.

Please advice.

In the meantime, if you have modified the code on the module, could you provide the version of the BLEStack you are working on?

Hi Rafael,

We are using the BLEStack as is and pre-qualified: QDID 135680

Doing so should not throw any issues in the launch studio.

Hi Niklas,

The inconsistencies are due to the differences in the TCRL version used for the QDID 135680 and 88415 and for the TCRL used today.

You can modify the ICS to clear all the inconsistencies with the help of your BQC.

Hi Clément,

thanks for looking into this. Still, I'd like to understand if we need to repeat testing for HCI and lower layers. The whole point of using this module is not to do any further testing when using it as is. Thats why we pay the higher price in the end.

Hi,

The complete TI Software Bluetooth LE stack is pre-qualified. Please review the QDID applicable to your design for details on the features supported. Generally speaking, unless you decide to implement an additional Bluetooth LE feature, there is no reason for you to have upper layers testing required.

The CC2650 Module (CC2650MODA) has an RF-PHY component in addition to regulatory modular radio pre-certification. This means that you do not have to repeat RF-PHY testing when using CC2650MODA in accordance with the module's data sheet placement requirements. The RF-PHY component is valid for 3 years after the assessment date. As of today, the RF-PHY component (QDID 88415) is valid until June 2022. Until then, no additional RF-PHY testing should be required.
