HI

I am trying evaluate CC2540 chip.

I purchased evaluation Kit. In that I got one USB doungle and other Kit

When I was testing with out debugger connection, USB doungle is not working (Not detecting by SmartRF Studio 7)

 

PLease suggest me what I need to do

    Hello,

    Did the keyfob work ok with the CC debugger? If that worked, then check the

    1 - USB dongle is powered by USB port as it does not get power from CC debugger,

    2 - The red strip from ribbon connector is away from USB connection.

    Hi Greg:

        I have made an CC2540 USB-Dongle board following the documents provided by TI. But when I connect the board to the power, I found that there is no signal at  the pin-1 and pin-3 of crystal oscillator. I used the Epson Toyocom 32MHz, 12pF, 10PPM crystal oscillator, and the bypass capacitor is 12pF.

       Could you give some advice to get me out of these troubles?

    Hi ShihaoLiu,

    Do you have any code on the chip starting the crystal oscillator? It is not started by default. See the userguide chapter 4: http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/swru191b

        Thanks for your help.

        There's another problem when I downloarded my program to the CC2540 chip. I connected the pin P2_1, P2_2 and Rst to the JTAG interface, but when I used the IAR IDE to downloard the program, it  said that "Faild to identify the device.".  I don't know if I should connect other pins to the JTAG.

    Hi Greg,

    Thank you for your mail.

    The mentioned both points are followed by me, But i could not able to connect USB dongle to computer with out Debugger.

    FYI, I flashed the Dongle with the given "cc2540_ble1.0_master_usb_dongle.hex" file

    Please suggest me how to overcome this issue.
