LP-CC2652RSIP: CC2652RSIP

Part Number: LP-CC2652RSIP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2652RSIP

Hi Team,

Will we add the project zero example code inside the SDK for LP-CC2652RSIP?

  • I have encountered problems using CC2652RSIP as follows,

    Step 1: Project_zero from CC26X2R1_LAUNCHXL to LP_CC2652RSIP on CCS

Step 2 I can find Project zero on TI Starter before power off.

Step 3 Power on after power off, project zero disappeared.

After the board is powered off, the code is lost and the code must be reloaded. I don't know why the code is not burned into the flash.

Please help to solve, thank you.

  • Hi,

Thanks for reaching out. I am looking into this and will update you once I have more info. In the meantime, for development I recommend using the simple_peripheral example. The project_zero example is meant to showcase what the device can do, but simple_peripheral is a great project to start development on.

  • Hi Amos,

Can you share what the flashing procedure was for getting project_zero onto your board? Did you flash the bim_offchip project first? The project_zero program has OAD enabled by default, which means that the bim must be included in the internal flash of this device. Not including the bim, can lead to behavior such as the one you are currently experiencing. The following SimpleLink Academy guide contains instructions on how to flash Project Zero in such a way that it runs as expected: https://dev.ti.com/tirex/explore/node?node=ADU5RaAcoc.XpOvbOmL6cQ__pTTHBmu__LATEST

  • Hi,

I have reached out to some colleagues and have some information to share. The project_zero example is not available publicly for the LP-CC2652RSIP at this time. The device does come with the project flashed out of the box, but this will be overwritten if a new project is flashed onto the device. I highly recommend using simple_peripheral as a starting point for development as that example is made with that purpose in mind. You may be able to flash the project_zero example for the LX26X2R1_LAUNCHXL onto your device, but you must ensure that the flashing instructions linked in my earlier reply are followed to ensure proper functionality.

  • Hi Jan,

Thanks for your help, I have successfully burned Project zero, it should be the burning sequence that caused the failure.

  • Hi Amos,

Is Project Zero behaving as expected now? If so, then mark the answer that resolved your query and it will automatically close the thread. Slight smile

  • Hi Jan,

Why is it strongly recommended to use simple_peripheral as a starting point for development?
Isn't Project zero more capable of two-way communication?

    thank you.

    Amos

  • Hi Amos,

The reason I recommend starting with simple_peripheral over project_zero is that it provides a framework for implement a peripheral example. It is a relatively simple example that contains what is needed to create a peripheral project. The project_zero project is relatively more complex than simple_peripheral due to the additional features it contains. However, if these features are not desired, then simple_peripheral would be a great project to start from. The Custom Profile SimpleLink Academy course provides all the needed information to start development on a peripheral example with a custom profile. Everything taught in that lab can be seamlessly applied to a simple_peripheral project to kickstart development.
