CC2560: Bluetooth audio streamer/transmitter

Hello

I've had a request to design an audio switch/routing/control system for a client and part of the design would include a number of bluetooth audio streamers/transmitters. These would be each paired to a single consumer type BT headset or BT loudspeaker.
I'm hoping for some guidance/advice on whether the TI CC25xx ICs would be suitable for this application. Ideally, I'd prefer not to have a large code project to develop and it would be great to use TI's code.

Could anyone help me determine whether I'm heading in the right direction looking into the CC2560 or similar.

Hi Andy,

The CC2560 is not recommended for new designs, but our CC2564 and CC2564C could address your design criteria. Do you plan to use a host MCU for the bluetooth operations or a Linux host? We offer pre-built stacks on certain MCUs or a Linux build guide using BluetopiaPM, a platform manager for our Bluetooth stack.

For example, using an STM32 host MCU, you could leverage the A3DP source demo from this guide to stream audio from the STM32 using our Bluetooth chip and an external codec.

Does this help address your design considerations?

This is certainly a positive step. It will be a learning curve for me as my microcontroller experience is PIC only, so it's yet to be seen how steep that learning curve would be.

I'll have a look through the links you have kindly provided and see whether this is within my capabilities.

I think the link you included could be all I need. My potential design 'simply' needs to act as a bluetooth audio transmitter/source and ideally remember a paired device so it would re-pair automatically after a power cycle.

I'll have a read later today and see if it's within my limits!
