CC2652R7: External regulator mode support

Hi,

Does cc2652R7 support external regulator mode?

I would like to supply 1.8v directly to VDDS/VDDR/VDDRF while connecting VDDS_DCDC and DCDC_SW to GND as suggested in swra640.

But, I could not find any details on its datasheet in using the device in external regulator mode, unlike the datasheet for cc2652rb.

Also, since cc2652R7 is a new device, this feature might not be supported at the moment.

Yes, referring to that thread, I thought that since CC2652R supports external regulator mode even though its not mentioned in the datasheet, I was sure that CC2652R7 would also the case.

I'm already trying to finalize my schematic in external regulator mode, so please let me know again when you can confirm if this mode is supported in early phase CC2652R7.

Is it a matter of hardware to support this or not? Or just the matter of SDK?

Hi,

We expect external regulator mode on R7 to work similar to the classic R2s and the schematic should also follow the guidelines in the app note swra640.

Having said that, we at the moment, have not done any validation work on that mode.
