CC2652R: Multi role BLE application simulation

Hi Team,

I have been working with Multiple BLE roles (2-4 mobile connections and scanning for advertisements) on a single BLE device CC2652R. I want to know is there an opportunity to simulate this scenario to precisely know timing of connection events and scanning. I know one possibility is by tracking current consumption using energy trace tool. But I am looking for simulation possibility for example using Matlab. Do you have any suggestion or do you already have simulation model (Matlab model) that can be used to understand how much air time is left on radio to perform secondary tasks like scanning and advertisements together with multiple mobile device connections.

Hi Rahul,

I do not know of anything we have to simulate this scenario, but that does not mean that it does not exist. I think a lot of good information can be gleaned from the BT-POWER-CALC tool and the energytrace tool as a first start. I will ask internally about this and get back to you if/when I learn more.

Hi Nate,

Thanks for the imminent response. The idea is to know how 2-4 mobile connections are maintained and how much radio time is left for reliable scanning between connection events. I am trying to come up with a scheduling mechanism on top of Link layer scheduling using primary and secondary tasks implemented by TI. Please check it and let me know as soon as possible.

I've asked internally, and while we don't seem to have a tool to simulate this with, we have the docs below (the link layer section of our user guide)

I'd also add that we have tested our scheduler in a multi-role state where it's handling 8 central devices and 8 peripheral devices at once, and it's still able to find new devices with relative ease, so I think 2-4 mobile connections should be possible if implemented correctly.
