CC2642R: SoC mesh capability

Part Number: CC2642R
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2652R7

We are considering  PN# CC2652R7 CC2642R

We are considering using this SOc for a upcoming product.

How our product will work.

We  will have multiple microphones inside a conference room, where each mic will have a SoC. All these mricrophones will stream the audio data to a central device that will do DSP on audio data. Would one of the SoC i mention be a good option for us.

If possible can we chat with a FAE.

  • Hey Hilario,

Bluetooth mesh is an option, but throughput is generally slower due to the smaller packet sizes. I'm not sure how many microphones are planned to stream to the central device, but it sounds like mesh is not necessarily needed here. Mesh is typically used in an any-any node configuration (i.e. where any node can directly send a message to any node in the network). It sounds like for your application, you would want a star network where all the microphone's data is streamed to a single device.

For that, you can use Bluetooth LE. There are many options here, even outside the Bluetooth space.

I'll reach out to the team internally to find an appropriate FAE you can speak with.
