CC2541: failed to bond with Android devices (but works fine with IOS devices)

I am having problems with pairing and bonding with an Android devices (Nexus 7 Android 6.0.1 and Galaxy XCover3 Android 5.1.1).

I get the following error after entering the passkey:

Could not pair with App because of incorrect PIN or passkey.

With exactly the same passkey, I can bond to an Iphones and tablet consistently without any problem (IPhone SE IOS 15.5 and 9.3.6 and IPad IOS 10.3.4).

Based on the TimeApp example from the BLE-CC254x-1.4.0 stack.

Any idea ?

Hi,

This may be a know compatibility issue affecting BLE-CC254x-1.4.0 and lower. Could you please try to leverage the newest BLEStack for CC2541 using the following link? https://www.ti.com/tool/download/BLE-STACK-1-X/

Hi Clément,

The link you gave is for BLE-CC254x-1.5.2.0. Trying to open one of the examples (ewp file) with IAR 8.20.2 (which I currently use) gives an error that the example was created with a newer version of the Product. Do you have a chart showing compatibility between BLE stack versions and IAR EWB compiler versions?

If 8.20.2 does not support 1.5.2.0,which one does and where can I download it from?

looks like it requires 10.30.1.

Is the newer version 10.40.2 can be used ?

Hi,

The release notes state the tools versions the stack has been tested with. I cannot comment on the compatibility with other versions.
