CC2652R: Using BLE inside metal chassis

Hi,

My customer is considering to use BLE device inside a metal chassis (frame ground).
He concerns the chassis works as radio shielding, so the antenna should be placed outside of the chassis.
Do you know such usecase before?
Any design guideline for such usecases?

Tashiro-san,

Apart from the need to match the external antenna, there is nothing special with regards to our device but just be sure the antenna gain plus the device gain do not exceed the local regulations.

For experimentation, your customer can simply connect the external antenna to the U.FL connector in our Launchpad, re-route the RF path to this connector and do the L-network matching.
