LAUNCHXL-CC26X2R1: simplePeripheral can not be connected in Debug active config.

Hi

I use IAR to build simple_peripheral example with Release and Debug.

I did not change any setting or code of simple_peripheral.

The firmware build with Release can be connected by smart phone.

And the firmware build with Debug can not be connected by smart phone.

What should I do to solve this problem?

The SDK version what I use is simplelink_cc13xx_cc26xx_sdk_5_30_01_01.

Hi Kong,

You can compare the simple_peripheral\Tools\ble_[Debug/Release].xscfg files to observe the differences in build configurations and open an IAR debugger session with the Debug configuration to determine if the code asserts or gets stuck in a loop due to error handling.

Hi Ryan

I have replaced the content of ble_Debug.xscfg with ble_Release.xscfg and copy IAR options of Release to Debug.

And the problem is still exist.

When I connect board with smart phone, the "DEFAULT SPINLOCK" is print out.

The AssertHandler is called in HCI_BLE_HARDWARE_ERROR_EVENT_CODE->processStackMsg.

Hi Kong,

Could you specify which version of IAR you are using? The 5.30 SDK release notes recommend using IAR 8.50.1.

The hardware error code is 0x85(HW_FAIL_UNEXPECTED_RF_STATUS) in HCI_BLE_HARDWARE_ERROR_EVENT_CODE->processStackMsg.

Hey Kong,

I believe you are seeing this known issue: https://sir.ext.ti.com/jira/browse/EXT_EP-10440. Please try the workaround mentioned in the bug report.

I follow the workaround in EXT_EP-10440.

The board can be connected with smart phone with building of IAR Debug config.
