1.Do we need extra antenna in CC2642R Launchpad while calculating AOA and AOD??
2. If antenna is already present in CC2642R Is it sufficient for the calculation of AOA and AOD?

Hi Rahul,
1.To calculate angles, Antenna array Boards are necessary.
2.The antenna array board is necessary, on-board antenna has no phase difference and cannot calculate angles.
In additon, TI only supports AOA.
You can check the academy for more information about AOA.

Kevin
Since BOOSTXL-AOA is no longer available. So what are the other alternative for it.
Hi,
We recommend to design your own antenna, possibly leveraging the app notes and collateral we have produced.
Best regards,
Hi,
To be as clear as possible:
- The only case where you need several antennae is when using AoA. In that case, the antenna array should be set on the locator side (coordinator). In other words the target (tag) only requires one antenna.
Note: the stack does not support AoD, so I will not enter the details.
- AoA support is NOT mandatory in order to achieve Bluetooth 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, etc. compliance. In other words, your product can be Bluetooth 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, etc. compliant with a single antenna.
I hope this will help,
Best regards,
