Hi,

I am now using MSP430F5438 + PAN1315 Bluetooth Platform.

I follow the instruction in the User's Guide and compile the SPP on to the experiment board, but what I see was not the menu but the the red LED blinking and then after the red LED staying on, the yellow LED blinking.

How can I display and use the menu as the previous version?

Sylvia,

There are several applications provided with the SDK. You likely programmed the accl program, which does not have a menu and simply uses the buttons and LEDs.In IAR you can select the temp application as active and download it. This application is a bit different and uses the menus to pair and setup.

I have tried the temp application but the result was the same. I didn't see the menu and I look into the code, the main.c is the same as other application. Where can I see the differences among these applications? Besides, when I use the temp application, the red and yellow LEDs will blinking together, which indicates there's error condition. How can I see why there is the error condition?

Shan,

The main difference is in the HAL.

Regarding the blinking LEDs, it means that you are using the incorrect SP when building the image. Please refer to the Developer's Guide on how to select the correct SP library.

Hi,

I believe I followed the instruction on the user's guide, and use all the default configuration, but the there was no menu appearing on the screen after I compiled the temp application to the MSP430. Is there something wrong in the SDK or there are other things I need to consider?

PS: Does the SP means 'stack pointer' ?

Do you still see the two LEDs blinking?

SP in this case refers to service pack.

Gustavo,

The two LEDs did not blink any more. But it seems that after I compile accl application I could not compile other application to the MSP430 such as the temp application and the MSP430F5438 User Experience example project. How can I erase the previous application and change to another one?

I just found the two LEDs Blinking again, especially after I connect them for more than 5 mins.

If you are using MSP430F5438A devices, they will reset because they are not officially licensed to be used with the Mindtree BT Stack. Please obtain MSP430BT5190 which are licensed and do not show this limitation.

I see the reason. But is there any onther differences between MSP430F5438A and MSP430BT5190 when developing Bluetooth application?

Shan,

The MSP430F5438A and MSP430BT5190 are exactly the same, except for the licensing timeout. Therefore, consider datasheets and other documents to be equivalent between the two.
