CC2541: PIN4 GND or NC

Part Number: CC2541

Dear all

In automotive CC2541-Q1, the pin 4 is GND. And in industral CC2541, the pin 4 is NC. According to datasheet, the GND pin is for ESD improvement. Could you please tell me what the difference in the chip design?

How this GND pin improve the ESD performance? Thanks

  • Hi,

The ESD performance is specified as the same for both CC2541-Q1 and CC2541.

Since automotive requirements do not recommend double wire-bonding to a single pad, it could be that for the automotive part has used two GND pads instead of just using one with a dual-bond for the industrial package version.

    Regards,
