RC Car with Bluetooth and Android

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2540, CC2560

Hi all,

I'm overwhelmed with all the information in this website.

This what I do, I working on  a RC car with bluetooth, PIC and Android.  It works fine. I want to make it better and simple.

I'm interested with the chip that combined the BT and MCU e.g. CC2540.

My questions.

1. Can Android detect CC2540?

2. I need a SIMPLE getting started to evaluate the chip. Too many links gave me headache. I've been doing that for the whole day.

I need a programmer, the software to program the MCU and the Bluetooth and the chip. So I can get started.

3. I saw a nice RC Car demo using CC2540. UNFORTUNATELY  there was no details about it at all. I'm disappointed with it, what's the point putting the demo when no details are given.

Thanks!

  • Paul,

The CC2540 is a Bluetooth Low Energy device, not standard Bluetooth. What you're probably looking for is the CC2560. The EZ430-RF2560 kit has a target board that is small and contains everything you need to develop using the SPP profile, which can send/receive from an Android phone.

Below are some links to sites you should look at.

  • Thanks Gustavo. This is helpful. Straight to the point.

I will take a look on CC2560 then.

Btw. I didn't receive any notification  when you replied my question.
