I had a question about CC2640R2F-Q1 that need your support:

Does the sensor controller of CC2640R2F-Q1 can achieve the function of CAN controller?

If not, does the CC2640R2F-Q1 support the CAN interface or does it need external CAN controller or receiver like TCAN4550-Q1?

Hi Xenon,

You would need to use a CAN transceiver like the TCAN4550-Q1. To run CAN though you will also need a CAN driver/stack on the MCU side, which does take up a lot of space. I would recommend looking into the CC2642R-Q1 as it has more flash to house 3rd party CAN stacks.

Does CC2640R2F-Q1 has a driver/ stack on its side? Could it house CAN stacks? (Can we just use TCAN4550-Q1 connect with the CC2640R2F-Q1 directly?)

Or only CC2642R-Q1 can house CAN stacks?

Hi Xenon,

We do not provide a CAN driver on this device. Typically you would interface with a device like TCAN4550 via SPI and have a SW driver/stack running on the TI MCU. We do not provide any in-house CAN stacks / drivers for our devices and recommend customers talk to 3rd parties for potential solutions.
