Trouble acquiring samples/information about PAN1327 ANT+Bluetooth modules

So I have a design here that I want to add one of the new ANT+Bluetooth modules to before production begins.

According to here, you should go to http://www.panasonic.com/ti to ask about purchasing/samples/technical info.

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/CC2567-PAN1327_Dual_Mode_ANT_%26_Bluetooth_Wiki

However, Panasonic's website appears to not work correctly and I can't contact them through the form.

Does anybody know the price or availability date of these modules?

I also understand they are working on a combo ANT+/BT/BTLE (low energy) module as well.

Any info about those?

Panasonic isn't very easy to contact and won't respond to my inquiries....

Bill

  • I am working to find answers for you.

  • Try this link to Panasonic site - you will find the full specification link at the bottom of the overview

    http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/electronic-components/rf-modules/bluetooth/pan1327-1317.aspx

Avnet, Digikey and Mouser should have stock of PAN1327 modules in the next 5 days - the part number to search for for the module itself is ENW-89827A2JF - this is for PAN1327 with the antenna on the module.  I do not currently have visibility into distribution pricing,  but this should be available when the modules are online.

Once the modules are available online, sample units should be available.

I'm not aware of ANT+/BT/BLE combo solution at this time.

  • On that page, if you click "Resources - Click to Expand/Close" you can download the "PAN1327-1317 Full Specification"

In the "PAN1327-PAN1317 ANT - Addendum.pdf" file it mentions all of the modules in development.

This is where the PAN1313ETU/CC2569 is mentioned that has BT LE in addition to BT and ANT. Is the part number or sample silicon available yet?

I did find the PAN1327 on digikey: http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=P14773CT-ND Under $20 in larger quantities isn't too bad. (its less than $1 more than the non-antenna version, which is nice)

In "PAN1315 Core Specifications.pdf" on page 27 it mentions a recommended footprint pattern for the PAN1315.

Does that footprint apply to all of the different radios? If that footprint is accurate for every one of the modules listed (so I can use whichever one I need) then I can start drawing it up.

However I am still not sure if Panasonic has any free samples available of any of these or where to order them. Their website form is broken and they didn't answer my request for information in the other form. I would prefer to use the triple combo module in my final product design. There have already been many BT LE products announced, including heart rate belts.

  • William,

The footprint for all PAN13xx modules is common, so you can use the PAN1315 module information to design. Therefore, you can design now, leverage what exists and possibly upgrade in the future when they are available.
