Hi champs!

Customer want to do on-chip OAD because there is no external flash.

In the documentation BLE5-Stack User's Guide (ti.com) the Memory layout is provided in such a way that you need 3 instances.
- BIM
- PersistentApplication
- UserApplication

However, the PersistentApplication is not available for cc2651r3.

Is that still planned for the future?

Or can we adapt the PersistentApplication from another controller?

If so, from which controller & what do we have to consider?

Hi,

For the moment, OAD projects are not provided for CC2651R3. We have written some guidance showing how to enable off-chip OAD on this device (see the note at the end of this step of the OAD Advanced lab https://dev.ti.com/tirex/content/simplelink_academy_cc13xx_cc26xxsdk_6_30_00_00/modules/ble5stack/ble_enhanced_oad_advanced/ble_enhanced_oad_advanced.html#code-changes-for-off-chip).

I guess you can reuse this lab to enable on-chip OAD (not tested on our side). However, please make sure to carefully estimate the flash sizes requirements before.
