btool shows status as InvalidParameter when trying the basic Read Using Characteristic UUID

Hi I recently purchased the CC2540MINIDK

I have loaded the example firmwares in both the keyfob board and dongle.

Using the BTool I was able to detect and establish connection between the dongle and keyfob But when I try to read the status of Read Using Characteristic UUID, I get the status as InvalidParameter.

Kindly let me know what could be the issue. Attached screen shot of the same. FYI I have installed it on Win7 64bit.

Hello,

The problem is that you are not in a connection. The left pain should show two device addressed. one for master, and one for slave. Try powering up both devices, press right button on keyfob, then scan, select, and establish connection in btool.

Thanks for your amazing prompt response. I think I was too late to establish the connection (keyfob would'nt have been in discoverable mode). Now it works
