CC2642R-Q1: different code version result in disconnect

Hi engineers,

My customer is using a simple peripheral OAD code with a combo of different sdk version:

BIM: SDK 6.30

persistent BLE: SDK 6.30

user_app: SDK 6.20

when doing as above, we can found the unexpected behavior that this simple peripheral can never respond to and connection establishment while ADV is detectable. please find log as attached. This issue will disappear if we change the app code SDK version to 6.30. Is there any migration that we now can result in such issue?

Hi Simon,

Just to confirm your setup, is what you refer to as persistent BLE acting as your factory image? And then the user_app is being downloaded over the air?

How possible would it be to port their app code to the newer SDK? Could you also point out the approximate timestamp(s) where the issue appears in the log?

Hi Joe,

1. I mean flash all 3 parts to CC2642 here, user_app is working as factory image. The issue happens before any OAD procedure.

2. actually the issue is all over the log. It is a 100% percent happen issue. you can find in the log after the connection indication is sent, CC2642 will either respond to feature update request with empty packets or respond nothing at all.

Hi Simon,

As discuss in the related email chain, we don't support using a BIM/persistent image of an advanced SDK with an older version of their application. It’s not a recommended use case and not supported.

As such, I will be closing this thread.
