LP-CC2652R7: Connecting to GDB server

I am trying to connect my new LaunchPad to my existing ARM toolchain, which uses `GDB`. I have tried running `gdb_agent_console` but it asks me for a "<board-data-file> in CCS format". When I run `xds110/xdsdfu -e` I see that the LP includes a "XDS110 Embed with CMSIS-DAP" running version 3.0.0.15.

Can you help me obtain the proper file for the `gdb-agent-console`?

I would also appreciate any other advice about using GDB with the LaunchPad.

Thank you for your reply. I think this is exactly the right path.

Unfortunately, several of the links in the referenced articles are dead. This includes what I think is the key link :

I am trying to run under MACOS, but tried the linux links.

I'll look around for the proper links, but would be grateful if you could also run down proper links. (FWIW I found a lot of dead links which could use some TLC.)

The TI Wiki site is deprecated but links should redirect (I've only ever used Windows 10 and Chrome).

Sorry to be so dense, but I'm still having problems.

I deleted all TI software from my machine & installed the "theia" code version and the EMU-pack (v9.2.0).

I can not find the "ccsv7" directory. When I run `./ccs_base/common/uscif/gdb_agent_console` (both versions: from `theia` and EMU-pack installations) I get error message below. There is a video about creating a CCS-board definition file in the gdb-server link you provided, but I'd assume the LP-CC2652R7 has one generated.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong? This is my first experience with TI development environment (though I was a TI employee long ago).

I think the only thing I need is the "board-data-file". Thanks.

CCS v7 is many years old and should not be used: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/CCSTUDIO/7.4.0.00015

It's possible you are referencing the version seen in a video. CCS Theia is relatively new so you could try using CCS v12 to suit your needs as well. You can refer to the Code Composer Studio Debug Overview for instructions on generating the *.dat file.
