Dear all,

Can you tell me which more crypto capabilities have your module CC2340.

From the reference manual I get:

AES 128-bit

AES CBC-MAC

AES CCM

ECB, CBC, CTR, CFB, OFB for AES

TRGN ??-bit (entropy)

So, which is the entropy of TRGN ?

Also, the module supports any kind of things such as:

SHA256, SHA512
HMAC
Secure storage
Any kind of ECC generation of Pub/Priv key.
Diffie Hellman integration of ECC curves.
..

Hi Albert,

1. AES supports various cipher modes each with their own advantages and disadvantages
2. Regarding TRNG, entropy is referring to the use a of noise source as means of RNG.
3. Except for SHA512, all of these features are supported.

But it is embedded in the MCUor you mean "by 3rd party softwares".

Can you share the page of the reference manual in which this is detailed?

It embedded in the device itself (CC2340R5). See section 1.7 and section 16 of the TRM (https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/swcu193/swcu193.pdf).

Okay thanks! Nice.

But here I have the problem. There is no specific information about SHA-2 256 support, secure storage, ECC generation, Diffie Hellman, ...

So I understand that this funcionalities should be implemented by using an embedded external library, no? The information of 1.7 and 16 section are only related to AES-128 methods. And I understand that there is no secure storage region.

Hi Albert,

Those features are supported in the Software Development Kit (SDK) but it is not explicitly covered in the TRM.

As for secure storage, are you referring to RAM read protection or something else? Could you provide a use-case so we can provide a clearer answer.
