CC2640R2F: CC2640R2F

Part Number: CC2640R2F
Dear experts ,
We are using cc2640R2F and ble stack - 3.03.08.00 . Recently we got stuck with  FCC.
According to Our BQCIf we provide a Bluetooth chip QDID ( 180401 )  of  ble core  spec 5.1 , the product should be certified according to ble 5.1 . We used ble 4.2  due to memory constrain of cc2640R2F. Expecting help from Ble experts and TI-guys .
Thanks in advance .
  • Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us. To clarify, your BQC is saying that you cannot use any of the QDID shown in the table below?

    Best Regards,

    Jan

  • Hi Jan,

We suggested our BQC to use QDID 180401. They Said that if we provide a Bluetooth chip QDID version 5.1, then the product should also be certified according to Bluetooth 5.1 .

  • Hi,

You are correct, when using CC2640R2 with the BLEStack, we recommend leveraging QDID-180401.

The BLEStack on CC2640R2 supports Bluetooth 4.2 features only, and is Bluetooth 5.1 qualified. It means that, technically, your product will receive Bluetooth 5.1 qualification.

From a testing point of view, no change should be expected as long as you declare support for the proper features (Bluetooth 4.2 Privacy, Secure Connections, Data Length Extension) and make sure to remove non-supported features (such as Coded PHYs, LE 2M PHY, AoA CTE Rx/Tx, Advertising Extension).

Last but not least, I would like to highlight QDID 180401 is an End Product Listing. It means you should double check with your BQC whether you could limit the testing (see §2.1.1.2 of https://www.ti.com/ble-qualification).

    I hope this will help,

    Best regards,
