CC2652RSIP: CC2652RSIP OAD update questions

Part Number: CC2652RSIP

Hello, we are developing a product with the cc2652rsip that can be updated wirelessly with the OAD protocol and an external flash memory, however after some tests and integrations we have the following questions:

About the factory image: Is there any way to integrate this image into the flash memory from production, I mean, without sending it via bluetooth by programming it directly via jtag?

About security: We are interested in the data being encrypted when it is stored in memory, but although we enable security in OAD, we are not sure if the image is encrypted in memory or only its transmission is encrypted, or we need to implement a custom encryption method?

  • Hi Adrian,

    About the factory image:

I am not 100% sure on your requirements but you can use the Serial Bootloader Interface to flash the device in production. Please feel free to have a look into our oad-offchip examples within our SDK.

    About security:

With security in OAD it is meant whether an image must be authenticated as part of OAD process. It does not encluede encryption on package transmission  or storage.

Find more information in our User Guide (section TI Over-the-Air Download) which is included to our SDK.

    Regards,

    Alex
